Welcome to Astro Lou. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Astro Lou mobile app, website, and related services (together, the "Service"), operated by Die Digitalen GmbH, Rautistrasse 60, 8048 Zürich, Switzerland ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, downloading the app, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who can use Astro Lou
You must be at least 17 years old to use Astro Lou. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that any information you provide is accurate. One account per person, please.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity under your account. If you think someone else has accessed your account, contact us at lou@astrolou.app right away.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app, which permanently removes your profile, birth data, readings, and chat history within 30 days.
3. Subscription and payment
Astro Lou is a paid subscription service. Your subscription auto-renews at the price shown in the app at sign-up (in your local currency) until you cancel. Prices may vary by region and may change with notice.
Payments are processed by the platform you signed up on — Apple (via your Apple ID) on iPhone, or Google (via your Google account) on Android. To avoid charges, cancel at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends.
On iPhone: manage or cancel at Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions .
On Android: manage or cancel from the Play Store app at Settings → Subscriptions → Astro Lou, or at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions .
Refund requests are handled by the store that processed the purchase. iPhone: reportaproblem.apple.com . Android: play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory . We don't process refunds directly.
4. Platform store terms also apply
Astro Lou is licensed to you, not sold. Use of the app on iOS is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"). Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Use of the app on Android is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service . Where the platform store's terms and these Terms conflict, the platform store's terms control only the points they specifically address.
5. Astrology is for personal reflection — not professional advice
Astro Lou is offered for entertainment, personal reflection, and self-exploration. Astrological readings, chart interpretations, and conversations with Lou are not a substitute for professional advice of any kind, including medical, psychological, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice.
Don't make important life decisions based solely on a reading. If you're facing a serious decision or a health, mental health, legal, or financial issue, consult a qualified professional.
6. AI-generated content
Lou's readings and chat replies are generated by artificial intelligence (large language models, including those provided by Anthropic). AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected. We don't guarantee the accuracy, fitness, or reliability of any specific reading. Treat Lou's words as one perspective, not as fact.
7. Acceptable use
When using Astro Lou, you agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any law.
- Try to access another user's account, data, or chart.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service in bulk.
- Send harassing, abusive, or harmful messages through the Service.
- Use the Service to develop a competing product, or to train another AI model on its outputs.
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with security or rate-limiting features.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information (including birth details that aren't yours).
8. Your content and chats with Lou
You keep ownership of the content you submit (birth data, life-area selections, chat messages). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and use that content for the limited purpose of operating and improving the Service — including sending it to our AI provider to generate your readings and replies. We won't sell your content or use it for advertising.
9. Our content
The Service, including the Lou character, brand, app, marketing site, and all software and design elements, is owned by Die Digitalen GmbH and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service while your account is in good standing. The readings Lou generates for you are for your personal, non-commercial use.
10. Referral program
We may offer rewards (such as free subscription time) for referring friends. Rewards are personal, non-transferable, have no cash value, and may be revoked if we detect abuse, fraud, self-referrals, or use of automated tools. We may change or end the referral program at any time with reasonable notice.
11. Push notifications and email
By creating an account you agree to receive transactional messages (account confirmation, password reset, receipts) and your daily reading notification. You control push notifications in your device's Settings. You control marketing emails (such as the weekly newsletter) by opting in or out at any time.
12. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. If we make a material change that significantly reduces the Service for you while you have a paid subscription, you may cancel and request a pro-rated refund through the store you bought your subscription from (Apple App Store or Google Play).
13. Suspension and termination
We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, abuse the Service, or use it in a way that risks harm to us or other users. You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any reading will be accurate or produce specific results.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Die Digitalen GmbH and its directors, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or CHF 100, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Zürich, Switzerland. If you're a consumer in the EU, EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those protections still apply to you.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top, and for material changes we'll also notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
